DESCRIPTION
Prerequisites:
The educational material available at this site is available freely and does not require any special program for viewing.
Concepts on general chemistry for secondary school level are needed.

Contents:
Educaplus.org is the personal site of Jesus Peña Cano, professor of physics and chemistry. The project is Educaplus.org online since 1998 and its main objective is to share with everyone, but fundamentally with the educational community, the work he has been doing to improve his own practice as a teacher.

Website contents cover many subjects, from mathematics to chemistry and physics through other subjects such as history or biology. Chemistry contents are divided in several sections: ionization, elements, chemical reactions, chemical bond, gases and nomenclature. All of them have applets with activities for students with explanations in audio.
Also we can find a 3D visual database of molecules in http://www.educaplus.org/moleculas3d/index.ht
and a complete collections of educational links classified by subjects in http://www.educaplus.org/directorio/index.php

Aims:
- Develop and facilitate ICT-based learning activities in the context of teaching chemistry
- Use ICT efficiently in research, problem solving and project-based learning in chemistry
- To change the attitudes of students towards studying science, especially chemistry.
- To have the student appreciate, learn and understand chemistry's basic concepts through experimentation, computer models, to apply that to real-life hands-on situations.

Use in classroom:
It is an optimum teaching methodology in order to develop cognitive skills. Good for both teachers and students. We can use it as an individual reinforcement resource or can be used as part of our school lessons.
COMMENTS
Points of strength:
- Attractive design of applets and interactive activities.
- Scientific rigor in the contents.
- Easy consultation.

Points of weakness:
-Bad quality of audio files.
-We miss a tutorial for teachers to guide them in the teaching process.

Scientific reliability:
Good.

Pedagogic value:
It has a high pedagogical value due to high quality interactive activities and can be used in any level in secondary education. the database of organic molecules is particulary interesting for their easy to use and variety of compounds that it offers.

National Reports on successful experiences to promote lifelong learning for chemistry The national reports on chemistry successful experiences to promote lifelong learning for chemistry are now available on the related section of the project portal. The reports presents examples of successful experiences in the partner countries and the results of testing of ICT resources with science teachers.
