DESCRIPTION
The prerequisites
For the comprehension of the theoretical part, basic knowledge of physics is needed. For the comprehension of the exercises, knowledge of mathematics and physics at a higher lever becomes necessary.

The contents
- Virtual experiments, history, references referred to the concept of light in classic and quantomechanic physics
- some paragmadical exercises already developed on the topics.

The aims
It is a proposal of interactive laboratory devoted to the study and comprehension of the light nature and properties and to the interpretation of electromagnetic phenomena.

Task Description
Most of the developed exercises seem to be more suitable for a course on physics of a Scientific Lyceum.

How to use it in class
a. The “ light in classic physics” section (electromagnetic waves, light in quantomechanics: photoelectric effect and Compton effect) can be used in the course of Chemistry, as far as the topics relating to light, spectroscopy and emission spectra of elements are concerned, as well as to introduce the atomic model of Bohr and the quantomechanic one.
b. The “light in quantistic mechanics” section is useful in the courses of General Geography and Astronomy, as far as the studies on star spectra and on the pieces of information obtainable from which are concerned (black body and radiation laws).
COMMENTS
Points of strength
Website of easy access and consultation.

Points of weakness
It is difficult to find any ones.

Scientific reliability
Excellent.

Pedagogic value
Excellent pedagogical level: the resource can differently used by the teachers in the work in class or directly by the students for personal deepening.
