Description of Dissemination Event:
Paper titled âEvaluation of students' opinion for enhancing their motivation in learning chemistry at technical universitiesâ was presented by Lilyana Nacheva-Skopalik during the International conference New perspectives in Science Education, organized by PIXEL and held in Florence, 8-9.03.2012.
The paper presents results obtained by enquiry held among students form technical university in order to evaluate their opinion/satisfaction with a training course in chemistry. The enquiry includes important quality criteria of the course such as quality of the teaching material, lecturers qualification, using attractive technical tools, modern teaching methods, access to additional resources, assessment methods. The used methodology gives qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the chosen criteria. The results are used to make conclusions for improving the teaching course beginning with quality criteria with the biggest importance. They also give indications

Outcomes and Results:
A paper on studentsâ motivation in learning chemistry in Technical Universities was presented. Some possible approaches for improving of the teaching methods and learning technologies in order to increase the attractiveness of chemistry and students' motivation for learning chemistry were discussed and shared with participants from other countries. This participation was useful because it gave a good possibility to discuss common problems and on the basis of conclusions drawn to mark some practical approaches for improving chemistry teaching process in general. Discussions held during the conference allowed participants to create new contacts and common areas for collaboration in the future.
