DESCRIPTION
12 years old portal oriented for scientific subjects - chemistry, physics, biology to be used by schools, universities and individuals.
The web page is an interesting way to present issues related to the subject of chemistry. It also contains numerous links to other sites on this subject. Supplemented by a number of definitions and theoretical issues. Many interesting real-life examples, e.g. food additives list of "E", and cleaning tables useful in solving tasks.
COMMENTS
The home page of the Chemistry section has general chemistry links e.g. English for Chemistry, information on experiments and the history of chemistry. The English for Chemistry link gives information on the English translation of chemical compounds with rules governing chemical vocabulary in English, and is applicable to users whose native language is Polish.
The Physical Tools link in the Chemistry homepage shows how to do conversions e.g Temperature, Pressure, Concentration, however it is very advanced and not applicable to the Second Level Irish Science curriculum.
The ChemFan link gives information on interesting experiments which would be good for ideas however for their practical guideline use they lack detailed information on procedure.

SOme of the materials are archive now due to the copyright law - the website is only a copy of the original which oficially came to halt in 2008

Message: This site is described as product as portable, downloadable material.
The level of chemistry knowledge it aims towards is basic, medium and advanced and the Target Group Level is Lower Secondary School, Upper Secondary School.
The pedagogical approaches covered are Problem solving, Peer Education and Experimental Learning.
The subject area stated is Fundamental Chemistry, Life Chemistry, Materials Science, Food Science, History of Chemistry, Health Science, Industrial Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry.
The site is in Polish and covers chemistry, physics, biology for use by schools, universities and individuals.

This is Web catalog site with links to Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geology, Other Recommended and Schools and Colleges (in Poland).

The Chemistry section which was examined in detail for this review has a home page with links to general chemistry and also has categorised links labelled
Magazines and Publications materials for Students
Monographs
Fireworks
Equipment and Reagents
Periodic Table

The home page of the Chemistry section has general chemistry links e.g. English for Chemistry, information on experiments and the history of chemistry. The English for Chemistry link gives information on the English translation of chemical compounds with rules governing chemical vocabulary in English, and is applicable to users whose native language is Polish.

The ChemFan link gives information on interesting experiments which would be good for ideas however for their practical guideline use they lack detailed information on procedure.

Under the categorised links in the Chemistry homepage the Magazines and Publications materials for Students brings you into links from various sources of publications and journals e.g. Cambridge University, Polish Journal of Chemistry.
The Monographs section brings one into links to detailed information on Paper, Pesticides, Alcohol.
Fireworks section links are disconnected
Equipment and Reagents section gives links to suppliers
Periodic Table section has links to wiki and others but the only applicable link is webelements.

The site is not easy to use as one would need a lot of time to find resources applicable to classroom topics. It is a site which could be used as a resource for project research but as a resource for use in the classroom teaching and learning in Ireland it is limited.

National Reports on successful experiences to promote lifelong learning for chemistry The national reports on chemistry successful experiences to promote lifelong learning for chemistry are now available on the related section of the project portal. The reports presents examples of successful experiences in the partner countries and the results of testing of ICT resources with science teachers.
