CRANN’s innovative educational package, ‘Nano in My Life’ was launched during Ireland's Science Week in November 2011.
The programme introduces Transition Year and Senior Cycle students to nanoscience, which is set to become part of the proposed new Leaving Certificate syllabi, particularly to the chemistry syllabus.
There are seven modules, each using a range of teaching and learning approaches, designed to engage students and encourage active learning.

The 7 modules are:
• Introduction to Nanoscience
• Microscopy
• Nano in Nature
• Nanoscience and Materials
• Nanotechnology and ICT
• Nanoscience and Health Research
• Nano and the Environment.

The modules include powerpoint presentations, film clips, activity sheets, experiments and teacher and student notes. Most importantly links to the junior science and senior chemistry syllabi are given.
COMMENTS
This is an excellent resource that contextualises the role of science, and for our purposes chemistry, in the developing technologies that are such a vital part of our modern world.
The point of access to the modules also shows links to other resources from CRANN.

Message: This site is about nano science and its usage in real life. Firstly as this branch of science is a new and developing, it is very nice to see the websites such as this about that new area of science. The mainpage has a simple design. There is nothing to disturb while you are reading the sections. Attached videos are providing visual instruction as well as text instruction about nano technology which can be beneficial for both students and adult learners. Visitors can follow latest news and it seems to be kept up-to-date. The site has a section about Nanoweek Conference 2012. From this section visitors can find information for this year’s activities. Especially “Did you know?” section reveals interesting facts. It is useful for us to understand in which sections of our lives we use nano materials. These informations are instructed visually with the “Where is nano” part which is a good choice for students. Each headline is organised topic by topic which makes it easier to navigate and each section are dealt in detail. For example at home section can be a good example for a presentation about nano technology for students.

National Reports on successful experiences to promote lifelong learning for chemistry The national reports on chemistry successful experiences to promote lifelong learning for chemistry are now available on the related section of the project portal. The reports presents examples of successful experiences in the partner countries and the results of testing of ICT resources with science teachers.
