DESCRIPTION
The prerequisites are not very clear due to the fact that most of the teaching resources is to be paid for and therefore difficult to assess the prerequisites as the presentations in full are not to be freely visible to everyone. The teaching materials are very complex and widely ranging. The materials are designed for pupils from the 5th to 9th grade of primary school, and for students from 15th to 18th grade of secondary school. It’s divided into two years intervals for better clarity. The presentation outline is clearly established, the titles correspond to the content of presentations.
The contents are very fundamental, nearly exhaustive. The topics pass from the beginning – from the history of chemistry, through general and inorganic to organic chemistry. There are neither neglected the basic concepts.
The aim of this net is to support teachers to keep students and pupils involved in the discussed topics. These materials and crosswords could help the teachers to motivate students and increase the attractiveness of the subject. This can only happen if the presentations are professionally correct and the graphic design perfect. Unfortunately, it is not the truth in many cases. Only in some presentations the ratio of written text and truly illustrative images are appropriately chosen. In addition the task description cannot be fully assessed as in most cases only demo versions are available.
As to the point how to use this website source in class it is not fully clear. I see the most probable use in the power point presentations that could be projected during lessons to stimulate the attention of the pupils if used properly and if the power point presentations are accompanied with proper and interesting pictures and/or videos. But as already written above, most of the material is to be paid for therefore I cannot fully assess the contents as well as the other points.
COMMENTS
As the main points of strength is see the fact that the topics provided on the described website are very complex as well as wide. Also there exist wide offer of topics ranging from the history of chemistry, through general and inorganic to organic chemistry.
The main points of weakness seems to the fact that in some cases the issues seems to be rather oversimplified, even on the edge of naive descriptions.
The scientific reliability seems to be quite high and OK in most of the cases that I examined.
As to the pedagogic value I find hard to assess as most of the material show for free only the demo versions.

Message: I don`t like this web, it`s not useful for me (I am a teacher at upper secondary school) because it contains mostly presentations with plain text concerning basic topics, suitable for small children only.

National Reports on successful experiences to promote lifelong learning for chemistry The national reports on chemistry successful experiences to promote lifelong learning for chemistry are now available on the related section of the project portal. The reports presents examples of successful experiences in the partner countries and the results of testing of ICT resources with science teachers.
