This material has been prepared by academicians of Middle East Technical University for on-line courses at that university. There are many virtual experiments to use for the on-line courses and for individual learning of students. The material is open to everyone at the university’s web-site and registration is not needed.
Contents of this web-site are highly reliable and very well-quality in terms of scientific and pedagogical manners. There are many interactive experiments that can attract students attention to chemistry. The virtual experiments are easy to use and colorful.
Many of the activities are aiming at making the connection of chemistry with everyday life applications and phenomena. In this way, the material aims to increase student motivation to learn and study chemistry and science in general.
The virtual experiments are suitable for classroom use but the topics are not grouped for the grades and lessons in the regular curriculum of Turkey. Some educational technologies like computers, overhead projectors etc. are needed to use in regular classroom environments.
