DESCRIPTION OF CONTENTS
The purpose of this study is to develop a scale for assessing attitudes towards chemistry for students who attend high school. The final scale composed of 30 items were applied to the 820 students of 10 high schools who are educated in the centre of Mersin. The principal component analysis rotated to varimax rotation was used to obtain evidence for validity of the scale. As a result of this analysis, it has been determined that the scale has a structure composed of three factors; positive attitudes, negative attitudes and activity areas.

This research study has developed an attitude scale. With this scale researchers and practitioners can measure the attitudes of students towards chemistry.
