Description of Dissemination Event:

Maria Nikolova, Chemistry teacher from Aprilov National High School (Gabrovo), associated partner of Technical University of Gabrovo in Chemistry is all around Network project, attended the International Conference on Training Issues of Chemistry Teachers held in Gabrovo on 26 June 2013. In collaboration with Darin Madzharov one of the creators of new interactive educational platform “Ucha.se” she presented the online video lessons on the platform “Ucha.se” as innovative approach to high quality education in Chemistry. The huge interest in the videos - 150 lessons have been watched over 450 000 times for 1.5 year - proves that this form of education is a perfect way to motivate students by provoking their interest towards chemistry. The use of the platform for the purposes of the Project in the context of its aims was discussed.

Outcomes and Results:

New technology for creating Chemistry video-lessons, its advantages and disadvantages were considered. Teacher’s role and place in video-lessons was also discussed. The presentation and discussions was a step to the realization of Project activities related to the 3th thematic area “Good practice in Chemistry education”
